Chocolate City Boss, Audu Maikori, has been reportedly released today, 18th of February after being picked up yesterday in Lagos down to Abuja on charges of “incitement”. The arrest prompted the creation of a hashtags #FreeAudu where Nigerians stormed twitter pleading to the Nigerian government to tender justice with mercy. All tweets did not receive a positive reaction until the Former Minister of education, Madam Oby Ezekwesili intervened.
This good news was reported by the Former Minister who informed us that Audu Maikori would’ve been taken to court come Monday, 20th of February if she had not intervened in the matter, pleading to Mallam NasirEl-Rufai to accept the apology of Audu Maikori for posting false information about the Southern Kaduna crisis online.

“There’s no basis for a Govt clamp down on Citizens’ FACT-BASED advocacy on ANY ISSUE. So @Audu admitted he was WRONG. Accept it @GovKaduna

“@GovKaduna stated that he had personally reached out asking @Audu to not post those particularly untrue stories but he had continued.
“I pressed on the NECESSITY for@GovKaduna to act to FREE @Audu and allow all sides to LEARN the RIGHT LESSON from this painful episode.
“At the end of our discussion,@GovKaduna agreed to ACT and FREE@Audu quickly and end this unfortunate development. WILL WATCH OUT FOR IT.

“Upon release today, I very much hope that @GovKaduna and @Audu can find points of COLLABORATION on#SouthernKaduna after this sad episode.

Although we presently haven’t seen photos of the released Audu Maikori, there is a need for us to be calm and pray to truly see him released.
